Daichi Kamada says he expects to improve as a player after joining Lazio.

The Japan midfielder arrived in the summer from Eintracht Frankfurt in a Bosman deal.

Kamada said: "To play as a midfielder you need the best technical characteristics and I want to become among the best at a European level. Playing in a high-level club like Lazio, which competes both in Italy and in the Champions League, will help me a lot to grow."

On last season's World Cup, he added: "At the World Cup in Qatar I was the only starter, among the offensive players, not to score or provide assists.

"I wasn't able to leave a positive mark, I was left with regret so now I take the responsibility of giving more for the country and I hope that what I do in the coming years can be useful to Japan."
