The pundits are using under-fire Manchester United players to strengthen their arguments again.

Marcus Rashford has received lots of criticism of late, with a lot of it deserved, but some of the arguments we see put forward are incredibly low-brow.

After scoring 30 goals last season, I find it amazing that there is such a bandwagon of pundits all singing to the same hymn sheet when it comes to Rashford. I’m not saying they are wrong – but, surely, some of these former professionals have been through something similar in their careers. Of course they have.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent recently revealed a ground-breaking opinion that will cause the earth to crumble. The exchange happened on talkSPORT with presenter Andy Goldstein.

Bent says Tottenham’s Heung-min Son is better than Rashford. Well, on currently form, nobody in the right mind is going to argue that – so it just seems like a safe shout for a pundit out of ideas.

The South Korean forward has been scintillating form this term, scoring 14 goals and providing 8 assists in just 24 Premier League appearances. Not quite Rashford’s numbers of last season – but there is no comparison this time around between the players.
