Liverpool will end the weekend top of the Premier League table after winning 1-0 at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Darwin Nunez scored the only goal of the game deep into second-half added time at the City Ground.

Substitute Nunez found the net with a deft header from an Alexis Mac Allister cross in the 99th minute.

Nunez's strike was timed at 98 minutes and 36 seconds, making it Liverpool's latest winning goal on record in the Premier League.

Liverpool had bossed the game in terms of possession, with 70%, but Nunez's headed effort was only the away team's second shot on target.

Forest also recorded two shots on target - both of which were well saved by Caoimhin Kelleher.

Saturday's result moved Liverpool four points clear of Manchester City and five above Arsenal.

City will host local rivals Manchester United on Sunday, before Arsenal travel to Sheffield United on Monday.

After those matches, all three title challengers will have 11 rounds of fixtures remaining this season.
