After confirming Daniele De Rossi, Roma continue laying the foundation for the future, and the coach would like to remove the lingering uncertainty about the future of Paulo Dybala and keep Leonardo Spinazzola, whose contract is up in June, TuttoSport informs (via OneFootball).

The Giallorossi will soon zero in on a new sporting director, with Nicolas Burdisso, François Modesto, and current scout José Fontes as the frontrunners for the position.

With a new man at the top, Roma will open talks with both Dybala and Spinazzola to see whether there are the conditions for a renewal. La Joya is tied to them until 2025 but has a low release clause for foreign teams. The team will try to eliminate it and add one or two years, raising his wages to €6/6.5M plus €1/1.5 add-ons.

The fullback has played a prominent role under the new gaffer. The Giallorossi would be open to retaining him if he accepted a two-year deal with a much lower salary than his current one, €3M annually.

Our Take on Roma, Dybala, and Spinazzola

They probably won’t tackle key matters seriously until they hire somebody. Still, it’s about time to quell any concern about the Argentine, even though the bond seems strong enough to lessen the worries. The veteran still has some gas in the tank even though he can play only every other game to avoid injuries. Though, the pairing with Angelino isn’t too convincing, as they are too different, and neither is great defensively.
