Tottenham Hotspur have decided to bring Dane Scarlett back to the club from his loan spell at Ipswich Town.

The 19-year-old was sent out on loan to the Championship club so that he could gain some valuable first-team experience. However, he has made 12 substitute appearances for Ipswich in the second division of English football and Tottenham have now decided to recall him back to the club.

They have confirmed the decision on the club’s official website. Fabrizio Romano claims that the decision to bring him back to the club was made days ago.

It will be interesting to see if Ange Postecoglou is willing to give him opportunities in the first team during the second half of the campaign. It is no secret that Tottenham need to bring in attacking reinforcements and Scarlett could prove to be a useful addition.

Tottenham have been overly dependent on Son Heung-min for goals since the departure of Harry Kane and the South Korean international will be away during the Asian games. Tottenham have been linked with several attackers and it remains to be seen whether they can bring in adequate reinforcements during the January transfer window.

If they fail to do so, Scarlett could be a useful option for them. The 19-year-old is highly rated within the club and he will hope to grab any first-team opportunities that come his way. The youngster will be hungry to showcase abilities and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
