Former England striker Jermain Defoe can see Jadon Sancho at Manchester United.

Sancho has been frozen out by United manager Erik ten Hag after being criticised by the winger on social meda.

Defoe told BBC Sport: "With the Sancho situation, I just feel like like you have to set those standards as a manager. He [Erik ten Hag] did it with Ronaldo and Rashford.

"Jadon Sancho is a young player. I understand he doesn't help himself sometimes, but I think, as a manager, what else are you going to bring to the party? It's dragged on too long and he's a good player and he needs help.

"Manchester United haven't been great - and you don't become a bad player overnight - so surely you can have that conversation and get him back in the squad?

"Sancho is probably thinking: 'I'll sit back and wait because I'll probably be here longer than you.'"
