Desperate Luis Suarez says he would take bench role to remain with Barcelona

While Lionel Messi wants out of Barcelona, it appears that Luis Suarez will do anything to remain with the Spanish club.

According to ESPN's Sam Marsden and Moises Llorens, Suarez said he's willing to take a bench role to stay with Barcelona.

This news comes as team president Josep Maria Bartomeu said this week that Barca will be undergoing numerous changes this summer.

Bartomeu named players he wouldn't let go following an embarrassing 8-2 Champions League quarterfinal defeat to Bayern Munich, including the disgruntled Messi, but made no mention of Suarez.

Suarez, 33, is fighting for his future with the club until Barca reveal whether or not they want him on board for another season.

The Uruguayan has been with Barcelona for six years and recently became the club's third top scorer of all time with 198 goals. His contract isn't set to expire until 2021.

If he's moved by Barca, Suarez will be going to the fourth club of his career after previously playing for Ajax and Liverpool.
