Lazio secured Ivan Provedel to a new long-term contract, protecting their reliable goalkeeper for years to come.

The 29-year-old Italian shot stopper was not expected to become the number one in Rome when he arrived from Spezia back in the summer of 2022, costing just €2.5 million, far less than Portuguese shot stopper Luis Maximiano, who cost around €10.5 million.

Provedel almost instantly surpassed Maximiano to become the new Lazio number one and he has continued to shine over the last 18 months, hardly ever making a mistake in the Biancocelesti net, proving himself a reliable pair of hands.

Lazio confirmed last month that Provedel had signed a new long-term contract in Rome, a new four-year deal lasting to June 2028 with a salary bump up to €2 million net per season, almost doubling his previous wages.

With the goalkeeper’s future now secure, the Biancocelesti are working on locking down other key players in the squad like Mattia Zaccagni and Alessio Romagnoli.
