The AC Milan squad were back in training this afternoon at Milanello to continue preparing for the game against Cagliari at San Siro on Saturday night.

As Gianluca Di Marzio writes on his website PazziDiFanta, today’s session at the training complex saw Simon Kjaer, Mike Maignan and Ruben Loftus-Cheek continue their recovery process by training separately from the rest of the group.

In the first meeting between Milan and Cagliari earlier in the season the Englishman scored his first goal in Serie A, helping to seal an eventual 3-1 win in favour of Milan at the Unipol Domus Arena.

Pioli, however, can once again count on Davide Calabria, who has now served his two-match suspension after the red card he received in the derby against Inter on 22 April. Yunus Musah is also back after serving a one-match ban.

After the 3-3 draw against Genoa on Sunday evening, Milan are preparing to close the season with the last three Serie A matches. Over the weekend the Rossoneri face Cagliari before playing at Torino on the 37th round.

The season ends with a home game against Salernitana and the curtain will come down on the 2023-24 campaign, and the tenure of the head coach Stefano Pioli too.
