Diego Ribas has paid tribute to Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone.

Diego won the Europa League and the LaLiga with Simeone at Atletico.

He said, "Certainly one of the best coaches I worked with. He directly influenced my way of seeing football and my behavior on the field.

"He maximized my virtues, making me feel like the best player in the world, many times, he has known how to manage my impulsive temperament, at times, and many of my weaknesses (mainly defensive).

"He breathes football, he knows a lot about tactics, he studies his opponents like few others, but what I admire most is his passion, enthusiasm and energy that infects those around him.

"Mister, it was a great privilege to learn, compete and win at your side . Thank you very much."
