Liverpool's injury list got even longer on Saturday after Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones were both forced off the field against Brentford.

The Reds were already missing Thiago Alcantara, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Stefan Bajcetic, Ben Doak, Joel Matip, Dominik Szoboszlai and Alisson for the trip to London.

Jones limped off the pitch in the 34th minute with pain in his left ankle after falling awkwardly following a tackle by Christian Norgaard.

Jota left on a stretcher 10 minutes later after Norgaard had fallen on his left knee.

Ryan Gravenberch was substituted on for Jones, before Salah replaced Jota.

Jota's departure came shortly after he had assisted Darwin Nunez for the opening goal of the game.

The Portugal international turned a Virgil van Dijk clearance into a brilliant pass by using his head to divert the ball into the path of Nunez, who then beat the Brentford keeper with a perfect lob from 17 yards.
