What is going on at Manchester United? The club’s season has gone from bad to worse and somehow many feel that there is still more to go before they hit rock bottom. The Red Devils were torn apart at Selhurst Park by Michael Olise and his teammates as the final score line read 4-0 in favor of the hosts.

Following the defeat, many pointed fingers at Casemiro and Andre Onana , while midfielder Christian Eriksen owned up to the team’s shortcomings.

A big disappointment. We had an off day and we weren't in it. Everyone could have done better. We weren't good enough. We as players will take the blame. Christian Eriksen said in a post-match interview

Eriksen also admitted that using injuries as an excuse wasn’t ideal and that they have to make amends for it on the football pitch. While Eriksen’s honest analysis comes as a breath of fresh air for the fans, their track record this season has been horrendous. 13 losses till date in the League makes this season the ‘worst’ on paper.

Manchester United get absolutely battered by Crystal Palace

It took Michael Olise just 12 minutes to get his team in front against Manchester United. The 22-year-old comfortably shook off Casemiro and dribbled past a static backline before claiming his first goal of the night. His expertly placed shot found its way into the bottom right corner past Onana.

Minutes prior to half-time, the Eagles blasted in a second through Jean-Philippe Mateta. The Frenchman’s thunderous near-post strike caught Onana off-guard.

The second half saw more of the same as United made a futile effort to get back into the game. A header from Casemiro managed to find its way into the net which was moments later disallowed for a push on the goalkeeper.

Tyrick Mitchell then tumbled in a ball from close range, even though it was ultimately into an empty net. Just as United were looking to control the damage, a costly error from Casemiro ended in disaster for the Reds. Olise fired in a smoldering shot with his left, which went past Onana in full stretch.
