Tottenham continue their commitment to nurturing young talent by awarding a professional contract to rising star Callum Olusesi, marking a significant milestone in the teenager’s football journey.

A number of youth players have been integrated wth the Spurs’ senior squad by Ange Postecoglou.

Ashley Phillips, Alfie Dorrington, Alejo Veliz, Jamie Donley, and Mikey Moore have all been recently given the opportunity to transition from the youth side with opportunities to train alongside the first-team.

Another youngster Pape Matar Sarr has broke into the first team this season, establishing himself as one of the most important players under Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham hand Callum Olusesi a professional contract

The club officially announced the deal for the youngster on their website, confirming that Olusesi has signed his first professional contract with the club.

The club announcement read:

“We are delighted to announce that Callum Olusesi has signed his first professional contract with the club.”

“The 17-year-old central midfielder featured regularly for our Under-18s in 2022/23 while still a schoolboy and has continued to be a key figure in that age group this season, after going full-time with us last summer.”

Callum Olusesi has been impressing at the academy

Callum Olusesi has already made significant progress within Tottenham’s academy ranks, demonstrating his talent across various age groups including the U17, U18, and U19 squads.

The teenager has been highly impressive for Spurs’ U18 side, notching 8 goals and providing 4 assists in 18 appearances across all competitions in the ongoing campaign.

His impressive performances attracted interest from across Europe, with Romano recently claiming that there were 5 European teams after him last summer. However, he has seemed to have turned them all down and signed a professional contract with Tottenham.

While Olusesi may not be immediately poised for first-team action, his signing represents a significant step forward for both the player and the club.

As Tottenham looks to build for the future, nurturing talents like Olusesi ensures a strong foundation for sustained success in the years to come.
