When Chelsea beat Real Madrid, most Blues fans were focused on the fact that they were going to play in the Champions League final.

Their celebrations slightly masked what was a minor incident – Eden Hazard laughing and smiling with his old teammates after they knocked his new team out.

But Madrid fans, with nothing to celebrate, took notice. As you might expect, they, and pundits on Spanish TV, took exception to Hazard’s light hearted reaction elimination.

Things got so bad that Hazard got calls of support from his new teammates, according to an account in Marca today.

They presumably explained that this was all just par for the course in Madrid, where every defeat is taken personally. Every one of them – from Di Stefano to Cristiano Ronaldo to Sergio Ramos – has taken flak at some point, and there was no way Eden was escaping after cracking a small after a loss.
