The pursuit of Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is intensifying, but any interested party will have to meet Mino Raiola’s astronomical wage demands.

Haaland needs absolutely no introduction. The Norwegian has become one of Europe’s hottest properties as a result of his remarkable goal-scoring exploits for Dortmund.

With the 21-year-old thought to have an affordable release clause in his Dortmund contract kick-in next summer, he is expected to be the transfer window’s most coveted player.

As is reported by ESPN , Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid would all be interested in adding the striker to their squads.

However, any of the four would have to make Haaland their highest earner in order to get him through the door, with the report claims that Raiola is demanding £30m-a-year for his client.

That works out as a quite remarkable £578k-a-week, more than even Cristiano Ronaldo earns at Manchester United. He’d be the highest-paid player in the Premier League, were he to arrive in England.

Even with his reported £66m release clause being a relatively modest fee for a player of his quality, the long-term expense of having Haaland on their books is something every interested club will have to consider.
