Everton defender Nathan Patterson is happy with his preseason form.

The Scot is fully fit and has impressed this summer.

"It was good to get another 90 minutes in the legs and, obviously, being at Goodison as well in front of the fans," Patterson told evertonfc.com after the win over Sporting. "It was a tough game against a good team but it's great to get the win to finish the pre-season games.

"It was a really productive pre-season overall. I've really enjoyed it, starting with the camp in France and Switzerland and then different types of tests along the way with games over here and then a European side, it's been good for us.

"I'm feeling very good. I feel like I've got myself in a good place - I'm feeling really fit and ready to go for the start of the season. It's about staying there physically now and really kicking on for me.

"I just can't wait for next weekend now. The first game of the season here, we know it'll be a sell out and we know it'll be loud with the fans up for it."
