Defender Benjamin Pavard is in a confident and hungry mood ahead of Inter Milan’s potentially decisive derby against AC Milan.

The Frenchman spoke to InterTV ahead of the Serie A derby clash, via FCInterNews. He emphasized that the Nerazzurri are very keen to wrap up the title against their city rivals.

Inter have a very rare opportunity this evening.

The Nerazzurri can clinch the Serie A title in the derby against Milan – that would be the first time that either they or the Rossoneri have done so.

Of course, it is not as though a failure to wrap it up tonight will be too worrying for Inter as far as the status of the title goes.

The Nerazzurri will have several more opportunities over the remainder of the season.

But doing it against Milan would undoubtedly be special.

Inter need a victory from this evening’s derby if they are to clinch the title, mathematically.

A draw would not be enough.

Inter have won each of the last five matches against Milan across all competitions. However, that is hardly a reason to be complacent – the derby is always a match where the form book goes out the window.

Benjamin Pavard: Inter Hungry To Clinch Serie A Title Vs AC Milan

Pavard commented that “This is a very important, and absolutely thrilling match to play.”

“We want to clinch the title tonight,”

“I think when you play a derby, you have to play to win,” Pavard made clear.

“But we haven’t done anything special in preparation for this match,” the former Bayern Munich and Stuttgart defender added.

Pavard reflected that “A derby gives you a boost emotionally.”

“We know that we’ll have to put 100% into it, a lot of intensity to win it.”

The Inter defender concluded that “We want to win, because we want to win the title tonight.”
