Inter Milan defender is clear on his ambitions for next season – he and his teammates want to defend their Serie A title.

The Frenchman spoke to La Domenica Sportiva, via FCInterNews. He was not shy in setting the mark for next season at another Scudetto.

This season, Pavard enjoyed a very positive first campaign with Inter.

There were disappointments in the Coppa Italia and Champions League. But in Serie A everything has gone just about perfectly.

Inter clinched the Serie A title in dominant fashion.

Pavard made his contribution as the Nerazzurri won the title for the twentieth time in their history. This enables them to sew a second star on their chest.

Inter wrapped up the title with five matches to go. They did so in historic circumstances, in the derby against city rivals AC Milan.

The Nerazzurri’s lead at the top of the table is nearly twenty points over the Rossoneri at the moment.

Inter Defender Benjamin Pavard: “We Want Another Serie A Title”

Given all of these facts, it would be hard to overlook Inter as the favourites to win the Serie A title next season.

Milan will have a lot of ground to make up if they want to try and challenge their city rivals.

And then the likes of Juventus, Roma, Lazio, and Napoli are even further back.

But every team – including Inter – will start at zero again next campaign.

So there will be pressure on the Nerazzurri to keep the level they’ve maintained this season going and not allow any of their rivals to catch up.

But Pavard is promising that they’ll be no hangover or drop-off after this season’s title triumph.

“Now they’ll all be waiting for us,” the former Bayern Munich defender said. “Because we won the Scudetto, and it’s never easy to confirm your status as champions.”

“But we’re all great footballers,” Pavard added.

“We have the mentality of wanting to go on and win another.”
