2006 World Cup winner GIanluca Zambrotta feels that there’s no doubt that Inter Milan deserve the Serie A title this season.

Speaking to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport in an interview published in yesterday’s print edition, via FCInterNews, the former Juventus, Barcelona, and AC Milan defender praised the Nerazzurri’s campaign.

Over the course of the season, Inter have pulled away from the pack in Serie A.

The Nerazzurri have had two real potential rivals at the top end of the table.

Both Milan and Juventus have, in periods, shown the kind of form necessary to push Inter.

But both the Rossoneri and the Bianconeri have also had some real down periods in form.

The Nerazzurri, on the other hand, have been relentlessly consistent.

There have been 32 matches, from which Inter have managed 26 wins. They have drawn five matches and lost just one.

This has allowed Inter to amass a lead at the top of the table that has now been in the double digits for months.

Zambrotta: Inter Fully Deserving Serie A Title Winners

Former defender Zambrotta commented that “There’s little to say in the league.”

“Milan, after 32 matchdays, have one more point than they did in the season they won the Scudetto,” he noted.

“That means that they haven’t had a bad season. But Inter have just been too strong, like Napoli last season.”

“We have to give credit to the team in the lead,” Zambrotta said.

The former Italy international gave the view that Inter deserve their position “Because of the style of play that their coach has given them, certainly.”

“And then they have a squad that’s competitive in every position,” Zambrotta noted.

“Even in terms of the backup players on the bench.”

“The kind of season that they’ve had has been extraordinary,” Zambrotta said of this season’s Inter side.
