Goalkeeper Emil Audero will get a rare start for Inter Milan in this evening’s Serie A clash away to Sassuolo.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

So far this season, Audero has made a total of four appearances for Inter.

The 27-year-old, who is currently on loan at the Nerazzurri from Sampdoria, has started twice in Serie A.

These have come in league wins away to Lecce and at home against Empoli. Audero helped Inter to keep a clean sheet in both of those victories.

Meanwhile, Audero has also started in a 3-3 draw against Benfica in the Championms League.

The former Juventus keeper was also in goal when Inter lost 1-2 against Bologna in extra time in the Coppa Italia round of sixteen.

It remains to be seen whether Audero will stay at Inter past the end of the current season.

Inter reportedly have a purchase option worth around €7 million on the Sampdoria-owned goalkeeper.

However, whether or not the Nerazzurri decide to take advantage of it is not certain.

Reportedly, Inter are trying to sign goalkeeper Bento from Athletico Paranaense. That would make it hard to see Audero remaining past the end of the current campaign.

Emil Audero To Start For Inter In Serie A Clash Vs Sassuolo

Audero could, nevertheless, get his opportunities over the last few matches of the season.

This evening, Inter travel to Emilia-Romagna to face Sassuolo.

Against the Neroverdi, the Corriere report, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi is ready to rotate his squad significantly.

And among the changes will be Audero, the broadcaster anticipate.

Inzaghi is ready to reward the 27-year-old for his role behind the scenes and in training with a start.

That means that regular starter Yann Sommer will drop to the bench.

The former Bayern Munich keeper is fit. He returned to training today following a minor illness.

But Sky report that it will be Audero who gets the nod rather than Sommer.
