Former Lazio captain Alessandro Nesta has been dismissed as head of coach of Serie B side Frosinone today.

According to an official statement released earlier today, Nesta and his staff were dismissed due to the poor results this campaign, which see them currently sit in 12th in the Serie B table.

The 45-year-old Italian, who spent the first nine years of his playing career with Lazio, had been in charge of Frosinone since the summer of 2019, where he guided the team to an 8th place finish in the league, enough to reach the playoffs.

Painfully for Nesta and Frosinone, the team missed out on promotion to Serie A after a 1-1 draw with Spezia in the playoff final. The Ligurian side advanced due to their better performance in the regular season.
