Former Lazio captain Marco Parolo feels that Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi is the most successful in Serie A after Max Allegri.

Parolo praised the Nerazzurri coach speaking on Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews.

Inzaghi is now in his third season as Inter coach. And it has been the most accomplished one yet from the former Lazio boss.

Inzaghi’s first season at Inter had many high points. But it was still a season of transition after the team had won the Serie A title under Antonio Conte.

And there was perhaps a soft underbelly that saw Inter conceded the title to their city rivals AC Milan in the run-in.

Then last season, the inconsistency in the league was even worse. But the Nerazzurri had a roaring end to the campaign, which saw them reach the Champions League final.

And this time around, Inter have put it all together.

Whilst the Nerazzurri existed the Champions League in rather disappointing fashion, in the league they have been close to faultless.

Marco Parolo: “Simone Inzaghi Most Successful Coach In Serie A After Max Allegri”

Inzaghi has now won a total of six trophies as Inter coach.

That is in addition to three trophies whilst in charge of Lazio.

Parolo played under Inzaghi at the Biancocelesti. He knows the current Inter coach very well, and has made no secret of his admiration.

The former midfielder noted that “Inzaghi is the only one among the top Italian coaches who has never been sacked.”

“It was hardly a given that he’s stay for five years at Lazio,” he continued.

“And moreover, he always got results.”

Parolo said that “He won the Scudetto and took Inter to a Champions League final.”

“In eight years as a coach, he’s won the Supercoppa Italiana five times, the Coppa Italia three times, and the Scudetto.”

“At a national level [in Italy] I believe that Inzaghi is the most successful coach after Massimiliano Allegri,” Parolo said. “But unlike the latter, there is more consistency with him.”
