Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shares huge update on Tottenham striker Alejo Veliz.

It was earlier reported that the player is attracting interest from La Liga side Sevilla. The Spanish side made an offer for the 20-year-old in an attempt to sign him on a loan deal for the rest of the season.

The report claimed that the loan move offered is a straight forward one with no option to buy included in the deal.

Tottenham were considering accepting the offer and the player was also said to be keen on leaving the club on loan in search of regular playing time.

Things have progressed quickly since then, with Romano revealing that the player is in Sevilla where he is set to undergo his medical.

If the medical goes well, Sevilla will complete his loan move which will see him spend the rest of the campaign with the Europe League experts.

Romano shared the update on X:

“Alejo Véliz, in Sevilla right now set for medical tests — key step after recent injury for Argentinian striker. If all goes to plan, Sevilla will proceed with loan move with NO option to buy clause included. Back to Spurs in June in any case.”

TBH Says:

The move makes sense for all parties involved. The talented striker will get to play regular football at the highest level which will be good for his development.

Getting regular playing time would not have been easy for him at Spurs right now considering they already have a number of options in attack with the likes of Brennan Johnson, Richarlison and Heung-min Son all capable of playing up top.
