FC Cincinnati announced the signing of free agent defender Miles Robinson on Wednesday.

The U.S. men's national team veteran is under contract through the 2024 MLS season with an option for 2025.

Robinson, 26, spent the past six seasons with Atlanta United, appearing in 123 MLS matches (111 starts).

"We are thrilled that Miles chose to continue his career in Cincinnati," FCC general manager Chris Albright said in a release.

"He is an elite defender with a dynamic skillset who already has an incredible amount of MLS and international experience. His personality and character are an immediate addition to our locker room and we'd like to welcome him to FC Cincinnati."

Robinson had two goals and one assist in 2023 after recording just one of each in his first five campaigns.

"I'm very excited to be signing for FC Cincinnati," Robinson said. "This is an amazing organization from top to bottom, and I will do everything in my power to win more trophies for the passionate fans and outstanding people of this city. I'm ecstatic to play my first home game at TQL Stadium."

Robinson made the MLS Best XI in 2019 and 2021 and was a finalist for MLS Defender of the Year honors in both of those seasons.

Internationally, he has recorded three goals in 27 appearances with the USMNT. He has helped the team win Gold Cup and Nations League titles but missed the 2022 World Cup with an Achilles injury.

FC Cincinnati, the defending Supporters' Shield winners, will open the 2024 MLS regular season on Feb. 25 at home against Toronto FC.
