FC Midtjylland captain Erik Sviatchenko has recalled being blocked from moving to Leicester City.

Sviatchenko was with Celtic when the chance to move to the Premier League arose.

The Dane recalled: "There was a lot of talk with Leicester about a possible transfer, because I had done really, really well in the Scottish league, and then it is often the natural change to change to the Premier League.

"I remember they wanted to buy me for a big three-figure million and I thought it would be crazy, but Celtic wanted more and Leicester couldn't raise it.

"When we came back from the winter break, then, without explanation, I just don't play anymore. Then Dedryck Boyata plays instead..."
