The Moroccan was expected to enjoy the season, having been loaned out to Galatasaray.
Despite impressing in the Champions League group stages, Ziyech could have his deal ripped up.
Per Turkish outlet NTV Spor, the former Ajax man has been ineffective in the Super Lig in recent months.
The club are not happy with the 30-year-old and all of his injury issues this season.
Ziyech is a high earner and Gala may believe they can secure a more productive replacement.
