Cristiano Biraghi has confirmed that he held talks with AC Milan over a move in the past, but committed his future to Fiorentina.
Biraghi began his career with Internazionale, playing in their youth teams from 2005 onwards and eventually making his senior debut for the club in 2010, making his first start for the club in the Champions League against Werder Bremen in a 3-0 defeat.
After multiple loan spells and a permanent move to Cittadella, Inter bought Biraghi back from them and he signed a new four-year contract with the Nerazzurri. Spells with Chievo Verona, Pescara and Fiorentina followed before he was re-signed by Inter in a temporary deal, with Dalbert moving the opposite direction.
Now, he is back with La Viola and ready for another season in Florence. Biraghi spoke during a press conference for Fiorentina today and was asked by a reporter whether it’s true he has held talks over a move to Milan previously, given the links in the media.
“Returning to Inter was my priority, after growing up in the Primavera. Milan? There has been contact in the past, but I believed and believe in Fiorentina. This is a family that lives by sound principles, I’m looking for nothing else,” he said (via MN24).
