The Chicago Fire are lending homegrown defender Justin Reynolds to FC Lugano for the remainder of the 2023-24 Swiss Super League season.

The Fire retained the right to recall the 19-year-old Chicago native at any point, subject to MLS roster compliance guidelines, according to Tuesday's announcement.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for Justin to continue his development and gain valuable experience by competing in a new country and league," Fire sporting director Georg Heitz saud. "This move highlights one of the many benefits of our multi-club network, and we are excited to see Justin take on a new challenge and help our partners at FC Lugano achieve their goals for the remainder of the season."

Reynolds signed a first-team contract with Chicago on Jan. 1, 2023, but has yet to make his MLS debut. He had one goal and three assists in 40 matches (35 starts) with the MLS NEXT Pro squad Chicago Fire II in 2023.
