Following the 2-1 win against Fiorentina, Alessandro Florenzi spoke to the media and shared his thoughts on AC Milan’s positive performance. He acknowledged that they are in very good form, but stressed that they cannot stop now.

Florenzi replaced the suspended Theo Hernandez at left-back and did an okay job overall, with some good and bad moments during the game. He passed the test in our player ratings and his leadership continues to be important.

Speaking to MilanTV after the game (see video below), the veteran shared his thoughts on the performance and the recent form. He was also asked about Samuel Chukwueze, who seemingly has found his stride after some tough months.

On the game…

“We created a lot of chances, especially in the first half, but we were unable to break the deadlock initially. We are very pleased with what we achieved today, especially for the win, and now we have to keep our winning streak going.”

On Chukwueze…

“He played really well today, not only on the attacking side but also defensively because when Rafa would press the centre-back, we created space with Reijnders on the left, so his help at the back was vital.

“He played a good game but we know his qualities and what he can contribute to the team. Obviously, there are players who need a day to adapt to their new surroundings while others may need months. So we hope his settling-in phase is over because this is the Sammy we want to see.”

On the recent form…

“We feel good and realise that we are having a good spell, but we must not let our guard down and keep pushing forward. We will have some days to prepare for the Lecce game, which won’t be easy. We will play at 3 pm and they have a lot at stake, fighting to avoid relegation.”
