Tottenham will reportedly soon end its search for a new manager by naming Paulo Fonseca as the replacement to Jose Mourinho.

The Lilywhites have been searching for a new head coach for the last two months after they fired Mourinho.

Several of their top targets have been unattainable and they have now turned to Fonseca.

The Portuguese boss has just left AS Roma, whom he led to the semi-final of the Europa League.

The Italians replaced him with Mourinho and he is set to follow the former Porto boss to have a stint in North London.

Spurs should announce his appointment this week and he has been tipped to return to Roma to bring in some of his trusted men.

La Repubblica via Sun Sports says there are three players whom he would love to work with while in London.

The report says he had a fine working relationship with Gianluca Mancini and would love to add him to his Tottenham squad.

He also enjoyed working with Lorenzo Pellegrini and will bring the creative midfielder to London if a deal can be agreed.

23-year-old Gonzalo Villar is the other player that he would love to work with again when Spurs names him their next boss.

These players wouldn’t be easy to sign considering that Mourinho will want to keep his best stars head of the new season.
