Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos admits he was a Manchester United target.

The 29-year-old signed for Nottingham Forest in the summer on deadline day.

However, he had been linked to United as the club's no.2 behind summer arrival Andre Onana.

Asked about the transfer to Forest, Vlachodimos touched on United's interest and told Gazzetta: "Yes, there was."

He did not give away too many other details about the possible move, which was scuppered by United's other dealings.

The Red Devils secured Altay Bayindir as their new backup keeper instead.
