One Chelsea player has been receiving praise left right and centre in recent weeks and even more so this week, and now a former Blue is the latest to join the long list of people loving this guy right now.

We are of course speaking about Chelsea’s new talisman, Cole Palmer, who has been receiving flowers from all over the footballing community this week after soring four goals to help his side beat Everton 6-0 at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.

Palmer has grabbed this opportunity with both hands and he has not looked back since making his move from Manchester City in the summer. He just seems to get better and better every game and his importance to this Chelsea side right now as become indispensable. Chelsea would not be where they are this season without Palmer, which is a concern to where they actually might be if he didn’t join.

Pundits, fans, and the media have been going wild with praise for Palmer this week, and it is former Chelsea star Gus Poyet who is the latest to offer his praise to a player who is taking the footballing world by storm right now.

As cited by Blue Footy, Poyet says: “So many times we said in the past to have the quality and reach the first team or to reach a good team is sometimes not that difficult we can say. It’s difficult but not that difficult. To maintain that and performance consistently is a different matter. What Cole Palmer is showing is outstanding, unbelievable and he’s a pleasure to watch.”

Poyet is right, Palmer is a real pleasure to watch and he is a real gem. It’s not often you get players who come along and make such an instant impact, especially at the current Chelsea.

Another former Chelsea player even thinks Palmer can become better than Kevin De Bruyne!
