Lazio versatile talent Andreas Pereira has been mainly used as a substitute under manager Simone Inzaghi this season. Pereira has totaled for 12 appearances in Serie A play this season with two of them coming in starts.

Former Italian midfielder Gene Gnocchi is one who has been closely watching Pereira’s appearances as of late. And for Gnocchi, he believes that at this point in the season, Pereira could be a dark horse contender to be an influential contributor for the team.

Gnocchi spoke about Pereira as his comments were relayed by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

I saw Pereira for the first time against Spezia, in which he scored that goal which they then canceled. Then those 25 minutes in Benevento made it clear that he has some remarkable shots.

He is quick and has the vision to play that can put you in goal. Correa is now out, I would let him play some pieces of the game. He can do the same trick as Luis Alberto.

Pereira is sure to receive more opportunities to prove just what he can showcase to the team.
