Former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is still a free agent after his contract expired with the Reds last summer.

There has been suggestions that De Gea is now considering retirement after turning down offers to join a Saudi Pro League club. The Spaniard has also been linked with a move to Newcastle United following Nick Pope’s long-term injury, but the Magpies could stick with back-up option Martin Dubravka.

De Gea’s future is still up in the air and he seems to be spending a lot of time on social media. And now he’s on X replying to trolls.

On New Year’s Eve, one United fan made a joke at De Gea’s expense by uploading a video captioned ‘David de Gea 23/24 highlights’. The video showed the former United keeper dancing with friends at a party.

De Gea replied: “Enjoy my movements.”

United are expected to give Altay Bayindir his debut in the coming weeks, with new first choice stopper Andre Onana set to leave for the African Cup of Nations.

Onana will hope be hoping his place in the line-up is still there when he gets back from AFCON.
