One current Chelsea player has posted a heartfelt message via his X account on social media after a hugely memorable week for him.

Alfie Gilchrist has been a Chelsea fans since he was old enough to walk and talk, and he spent his younger days in the stands at Stamford Bridge watching his beloved club play football.

It will be the dream of so many football loving kids to one day become a professional football and even more so to one day represent the team that you play for. And for the majority of us, this will only ever stay as a distant dream.

But for Gilchrist, this dream has miraculously become a reality and to top it off, he even scored his first goal for the club earlier in the week helping his side thrash Everton 6-0. What a moment this was for him, and what a season it has been for him too gaining his first senior caps for the club he loves and supports and has done since a kid.

“Unforgettable moment,” Gilchrist posted, as seen below.

“From the stands to the pitch, proud to score my first Premier League goal for the club I’ve always supported. Grateful for all the love and support. This is just the beginning!”

This is literally just magical and such a fairy-tale story that you cannot help but get consumed with. This guy deserves all the love he is getting right now because he had a dream and he went for it. He is so humble as well and is not taking his opportunity for granted after spending years in the Chelsea academy and recently captaining the U21 side.

I do hope he continues to get his chances in the Chelsea first team and one day nails down a regular spot here.
