AC Milan will take on Cagliari this evening and although Stefano Pioli will make some significant changes, a lot of focus is still on the upcoming mercato. At least, this became clear in today’s Italian newspapers.

As per the latest reports, Pioli is set to bench the likes of Davide Calabria, Fikayo Tomori, Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao tonight. They will be on the bench, so it’s a technical choice, and it remains to be seen what his motivation will be.

In any case, the newspapers focused a lot on the upcoming mercato this morning, with the Benjamin Sesko links certainly heating up. The Rossoneri are supposedly ready to put €50m on the table for his services. Below are the headlines on the front pages.

The headlines

Gazzetta dello Sport

“Sesko sees Milan. Meeting in Milano with the Rossoneri management.”

“€50m offered to Leipzig for the Slovenian striker. Milan-Cagliari tonight, Pioli snubs Theo and Leao.”

Tuttosport

“Milan are back in for Buongiorno. An attempt is on the cards to leapfrog Inter.”

“The Nerazzurri can only sign him on a loan with an obligation to buy. Torino are asking for €45m.” Click to view slideshow.
