Monza chief Adriano Galliani commented on Juan Jesus accusing Francesco Acerbi of racism. ‘Knowing him, it seems improbable.’

The alleged incident occurred during the 1-1 Serie A draw between Inter and Napoli at San Siro on Sunday.

Juan Jesus was caught on camera telling the referee that Acerbi had called him a racist term, followed by the Inter defender seeming to apologise or clear the air.

Afterwards, the Napoli man told DAZN that Acerbi had apologised and he was prepared to put the matter behind them.

However, when Acerbi was excluded from the Italy squad over the incident, he then told reporters that he did not use a racist term.

Monza chief Galliani was asked about the situation when leaving the Senate this evening.

“I know Acerbi personally and knowing him, that seems improbable. Having said that, I did not see it and therefore I do not know.”

Galliani was also asked if the right decision was made when excluding Acerbi from the Italy squad, but the response was the same.

“I don’t know.”

Acerbi could face a 10-match Serie A ban if the FIGC prosecutor agrees that a racist term was used.
