After over 60 years since their last World Cup, Wales look like they could be heading home earlier than expected.

Wales now sit at the bottom of their group after an awful display against underdogs Iran on Friday morning. Leading up to the World Cup there was a lot of hope from Welsh supporters that they could qualify from an average-looking group. With England touted as the favourites for the number one spot, many thought that it would come down to the wire between Wales and the USA.

But after the result against Iran, it looks to be over before it had even started.

In a dejected interview after the loss, Gareth Bale voiced his frustration and disappointment with the result.

Bale’s lack of football has been evident, the MLS star has only played 28 minutes of club football since the end of September.

Wales now face a gigantic ask, they must win against England and even that might not be enough.
