Alasdair Gold believes Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is trying to change the complete mentality of the club with his latest comments.

Spurs couldn’t continue their winning ways in the Premier League, falling to a surprising 3-0 loss to 12th-placed Fulham last Saturday.

The North London club aimed to secure a win at Craven Cottage to climb above Aston Villa into the 4th place. But they failed to build on their impressive 4-0 win over Villa and crumbled to an away defeat.

After the game, Postecoglou faced questions about the significance of the loss and the potential implications for Tottenham’s top 4 hopes.

In response, he dismissed the notion that finishing fourth was his ultimate goal. The Australian manager instead made it clear that his ambition for the club goes beyond simply finishing in the top four.

This was not the first time he dismissed the importance of a top 4 finish. He made the same claim around a week back, emphasising on continuous improvement and creating a foundation for future success, rather than fixating on short-term outcomes.

And Alasdair Gold believes that by making these statements, Ange is trying to reshape the mentality of the club on a whole.

Speaking on Youtube (via Last Word On Spurs), Gold claimed that Postecoglou is focused on a broader perspective, aiming to cultivate a league contending mindset within the North London club.

Rather than settling for a top-four finish, the manager is intent on fostering a winning mentality that positions Spurs as serious title contenders starting from the next season.

TBH Says

Postecoglou is building a squad capable of challenging for the title, and Tottenham’s recent activity in the transfer market suggests just that.

After a terrific start to the season, Spurs have become inconsistent with the results lately but they have shown promising signs that we are heading in the right direction under the Australian.
