Guinness and Heineken are engaged in a multimillion-pound fight to replace Budweiser as the Premier League’s official beer partner.

The news emerged this evening, as per Sky News, are the media outlet learned that Guinness and Heineken were involved in a bidding war after making rival proposals to replace Budweiser at the end of the season.

Budweiser has been the official beer partner of the Premier League for the last five years.

An insider from one Premier League claims the Guinness interest would be worth tens of millions of pounds throughout a three-year deal. The figure proposed is believed to be higher than the amount offered by Heineken.

As a result, Heineken should expect an invite to table a revised offer.

An agreement with one of the brands over a new deal is expected to be reached in the coming weeks.

This means we could see a new beer on offer at Old Trafford next season.

Speaking to Stretty News, one season ticket holder explained: “To be completely honest, I rarely have a drink in the ground anymore. I can’t drink that warmed-up horse urine they serve by the bottle, at any price.

“The potential incoming drink choices would be more expensive, I’m fairly sure of that, but I could stomach it to drink something decent compared to what we have currently.”
