Former Blackburn Rovers and Chelsea striker Chris Sutton believes that Harry Kane is "the worst diver" in soccer.

Sutton - who won the Premier League with Blackburn in 1995 - was part of a debate about simulation on the Daily Mail's It's All Kicking Off podcast this week.

Journalist Ian Ladyman started by listing the top five divers he had seen during his time watching the beautiful game.

Ladyman selected Jurgen Klinsmann in fifth place, behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suarez, Rivaldo and Ashley Young in top spot.

A baffled Sutton replied: "I'm just going to mention two quick ones who you've left out. Scandalous how you've left them out...

"Bruno Fernandes, one of the worst. And the winner by a country mile, but you can't call him out because he's England captain, Harry Kane. He's the worst diver."

On Kane, Sutton added: "He is a prolific diver and gets away with it week in week out - all the time. Harry Kane is a serial diver. The worst I've ever seen. Brilliant player, wonderful goalscorer, got everything, but he's a diver."

Bayern Munich forward Kane was shown a yellow card for an alleged dive on his most recent start for England.

It came in November during a 2-0 win over Malta at Wembley Stadium.

Kane was adamant that he had been fouled by the Malta goalkeeper. However, the VAR did not believe that the referee had made a clear and obvious error by not awarding a penalty, so Kane's yellow card stood.
