Tottenham, fresh off of a hotly-contested loss to Manchester City in the FA Cup, will look to bounce back with a strong showing in their upcoming Premier League fixtures. Ange Postecoglou knows that his team are within striking distance of a top-four finish. While looking to the future it appears that they will now follow up the on-pitch disappointment with a loss in the transfer market.

Antonio Nusa Snubs Tottenham for Brentford

Summer Transfer Sealed

Fabrizio Romano reported on Sunday afternoon that “Brentford have just reached an agreement with Club Brugge to sign Antonio Nusa.” Tottenham had been pursuing the 18-year-old, but the Bees have beaten them to the punch. The Italian journalist noted that the transfer fee was a package of over £25 million.

Nusa will join Brentford in June from Club Brugge. Romano stated that “Green light ready also on player side.” The Belgian outfit are struggling in the Pro League. Normally a title contender, Blauw-Zwart are 12 points off the top. Keeping the young Norweigan for six more months could help facilitate a late-season run.

What Tottenham are Missing out on in Nusa Deal

After making his professional debut with Stabæk in Norway during the 2021 campaign, Nusa earned a call-up to Norway’s U16 squad. Later that year, Brugge signed him and he notched a goal in an impressive Champions League victory against FC Porto. Already starting for a strong European club, and creating or finishing goals in several matches, the teenager caught the eye of Tottenham and Brentford.

Brugge have been giving Nusa regular playing time for two consecutive seasons. The Lilywhites will feel like they have missed out on a player who has been described as a “Rising Star.” With years of prime footballing ahead of him, the teenage attacker will have his chance to shine in the world’s best league later this year.
