Marquinhos once again had a front-row seat to watch Lionel Messi orchestrate a top-class performance for Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 play. Messi was the star of the show in PSG’s 2-1 home win over Toulouse, as he scored the game-winning goal of the match.

Messi was all over the place throughout the course of this Ligue 1 fixture. With Neymar and Kylian Mbappe unavailable to play on Ligue 1 matchday 22 due to their respective injuries, the Argentine forward opted to play the role of a playmaker against Toulouse, creating seven goal-scoring chances for teammates. He also completed six successful dribbles in the contest.

Marquinhos was left in awe after watching Messi lead the way for the reigning Ligue 1 champions against Toulouse.

“He is a genius,” Marquinhos said after the match. “We have nothing bad to say about him, a phenomenon. He has tried everything and won everything, and he always has the motivation to always want more.

“I am very happy that he is here with us, motivated and wanting to help the team.”

Messi has logged 20 goal contributions in Ligue 1 play this season with 10 goals and 10 assists.
