Hellas Verona have been incredibly active this month and are now thinking about making a move for Roma centre back Marash Kumbulla.

The Albanian defender is a product of the Gialloblu’s youth system and made 28 appearances for the first team before heading off to the Giallorossi in September 2020, moving on a two-year loan deal with a conditional obligation to buy clause worth €13.5m plus €3.5m in add-ons.

Kumbulla missed over 250 days of action over the last year due to a cruciate ligament rupture, only returning at the start of this month. His contract with Roma expires in 18 months and doesn’t seem likely to be renewed at this stage.

As reported by TMW, Verona are looking to bring in some reinforcements after letting eight players leave this month and have started to think about a loan move for Kumbulla, who is looking for regular playing time as he works to reach full match fitness following his injury.

The Gialloblu sold various players over the last few weeks, including Cyril Ngonge to Napoli, Isak Hien to Atalanta and Josh Doig to Sassuolo.
