Henrikh Mkhitaryan has proven to be an invaluable addition to Inter’s squad as an experienced and versatile injection of quality.

Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport argue, via FCInterNews, that the Armenian has had the kind of impact that Arturo Vidal had been expected to but never quite delivered.

Mkhitaryan joined Inter on a free transfer from Roma in the summer prior to this season.

The 33-year-old has been virtually everpresent in the Nerazzurri’s team, only missing matches when he has been injured.

The former Giallorossi, Manchester United, and Arsenal midfielder has been key to the Nerazzurri’s midfield trio, starting five matches in their Champions League group stage campaign and only missing the dead rubber against Bayern Munich.

Moreover, Mkhitaryan has been tested out at second striker during the World Cup break, suggesting that he could add even more versatility should the team need a different dimension in attack.

On paper, Mkhitaryan’s signing was made with similar intentions to that of Vidal from Barcelona in the summer of 2020.

However, whilst the former Blaugranas, Bayern Munich, and Juventus midfielder rarely lived up to his reputation and undoubted quality whilst in an Inter shirt, the Nerazzurri have gotten the best out of Mkhitaryan or close to it.
