Mario Hermoso has been offered to a few Serie A sides as he looks for a new home at the end of his expiring contract. However, his requests are hefty, so he’s more likely to head elsewhere, Calciomercato reported.

In particular, Aston Villa are in the lead to capture him on a Bosman move. He and his camp ask for €5M annually, and the Serie A teams are reluctant to give him that much, even though a couple of them are searching for a player with his traits.

Juventus collected information about Hermoso, but they prefer Riccardo Calafiori. Inter and Napoli are unwilling to meet his requests. Milan thought about him as well, but they intend to sign somebody younger. His agent Inaki Esipizue spoke to CalcioNapoli24.

“Mario wants to play in an important league and doesn’t rule out any option. He’s doing well this season and has grown a lot in his five years at Atletico Madrid. His contract is about to end. It’s not certain he will leave yet. However, when you ink a new deal, there must be a common project. We’re distant from a renewal right now.”

“Napoli are a great club, won the title last year and have an important history. However, I don’t want to single out any team out of respect. Serie A is surely a prestigious destination. Inter are a great outfit as well. They were eliminated because they didn’t finish off Atletico Madrid in the first leg.”
