Yves Bissouma has emerged as a standout player for Tottenham, earning praise from both fans and former players for his remarkable turnaround under new manager Ange Postecoglou.

He joined Tottenham from Brighton for £25m and was considered one of the signings of the summer then but unfortunately, he failed to make an impact due to injury troubles and challenges adapting to Antonio Conte’s playing style.

However, under the guidance of Postecoglou, Bissouma has rediscovered his best form. He has put in solid performances in the first three games for Tottenham, helping them to their first back to back Premier League win since February.

His performance against Bournemouth led to former midfielder Jamie O’Hara claim that he looks like a £100m player.

And another former Spurs player Aaron Lennon has too heaped praise at the midfielder lauding him for the way he has turned his Spurs career around.

Lennon attributed Bissouma’s success to consistent game time and the support from the manager he has received.

Speaking on BBC, he said:

“Also [Yves] Bissouma, a special mention for him, he’s been brilliant in the middle of the park.

“[He’s a] completely different player, like you said he didn’t get a run of games and some players need that.

“And also probably a manager to come in and put their arm around him and say, ‘You are that player mate’.

“He’s got all kinds of ability, on and off the ball, he’s been fantastic. But like you said, him, [James] Maddison, the new boy at the back [Micky Van de Ven] has been brilliant as well and I’m really enjoying them, I thought they were brilliant yesterday.”

The trio of Bissouma, Sarr and Maddison has been a total hit so far as the three of them look to complement each other perfectly.

Pape Matar Sarr has filled in for the injured Rodrigo Bentancur who has been out with a long-term injury since last season.

He was perhaps Tottenham’s best player last campaign until his injury and once he returns, himself and Bissouma could form a formidable partnership.
