There is now a bit of drama brewing within Paris Saint-Germain in the early stages of the new season.

In PSG’s Ligue 1 win over Montpellier, Neymar swayed away Mbappe’s request to take the second penalty kick of the match.

Neymar’s Twitter activity after the match hinted that he is surely not pleased with this penalty dilemma with Mbappe.

Overall, Neymar has been among the more efficient penalty kick takers in world football over the years. According to Transfermarkt, Neymar boasts an 82.5 percent successful penalty conversion rate for both club and country in his career. In all competitions for PSG, Neymar has scored 27 penalty goals and missed a mere three such attempts.

On the other hand, Mbappe has notched an 80 percent successful penalty conversion rate for both PSG and France. More so, he has taken 21 total penalty kicks for PSG in all competitions, and he has hit the back of the net on 17 such tries.

Last season, Lionel Messi had the golden opportunity of taking most of PSG’s crucial penalty kick attempts; he took three out of the side’s four such kicks in the UEFA Champions League competition.

PSG manager Christophe Galtier not only has these three forwards to resolve the team’s penalty kick dilemma, but he can also call upon Sergio Ramos in such situations as well.
