Hugo Lloris has emerged as an injury concern ahead of the North London derby at Arsenal.

Lloris has started the season extremely well and has pulled off some fine performances to help Spurs’ stay unbeaten in the league so far. However, Spurs could be without their key man in goal after the French goalkeeper was diagnosed with an injury to his right thigh while on international duty which will be worrying for Conte.

Spurs return to league action on Saturday lunchtime, when they face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in their biggest game of the season so far. Arsenal are currently leading the table, but Antonio Conte’s side are only one point behind in third place, so a win would see them leapfrog their opponents at the top.

In an interview with GiveMeSport, journalist Tom Barclay admitted that the 35-year-old’s absence would benefit Arsenal while being a significant setback for Tottenham.

He said: “It would be a huge blow because he’s both the captain and their number one goalkeeper.”

“Fraser Forster would come in and he’s earned his move to Tottenham, he’s got lots of Premier League experience, but you can’t take away the qualities that Lloris has as both a leader and as a goalkeeper.”

If Lloris misses out, new signing Fraser Forster will be called in to replace the Frenchman with a debut against their arch-rivals.
