Zlatan Ibrahimovic has suggested Milan onboard a new sporting director he’s familiar with, Jovan Kirovski, who previously helmed the Los Angeles Galaxy. The official brought the Swede to the MLS back in the day. The two have been tight ever since, La Gazzetta dello Sport informed.

The prospective new addition to the Rossoneri brass is currently a free agent. He played for a few teams in Europe and across the pond before hanging his cleats and starting his career first as an assistant and then as an exec. He spent time primarily at Crystal Palace, Birmingham City, and Colorado Rapids, on top of the LA franchise.

Ibrahimovic is backing Kirovski for the role of head of the technical area at Milan. The job title is currently held by Geoffrey Moncada, the former chief scout who was promoted following the departures of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara. Antonio D’Ottavio works right underneath him.

The Swedish icon doesn’t have an exact position but serves as the senior advisor to the owner Gerry Cardinale and the Rossoneri front office.

The potential arrival of Kirovski would reshape the Milan hierarchy, giving Ibrahimovic more power, but wouldn’t necessarily lead to any exit.

In the meantime, the Rossoneri have rushed to dismiss the chatter about PIF investing in the team. President Palo Scaroni dished to DAZN (via Tuttomercatoweb).

“There’s nothing true about it. It’s another saga created by the media that we will let slide with tranquility.”
